Harriet Palmer

Her maiden name was Stokes. She lived in Old Kent Road, London. She was single when she left her family and travelled to Australia. She returned when her daughter was 7 years old. Harriet Palmer appeared in the Psgr List on 5 August 1855. On 5th August 1855 Harriet sailed to Melbourne Australia aboard the James Baines from Liverpool on a unassisted passage. The ship arrived in Australia 23rd October 1855 after a 79 day voyage. Harriet travelled under her maiden name of Stokes.
2 She appeared in the census in 1881 in 14 Summer Street, Bow, Poplar. Harriet is a widow aged 59 a Pedlar, Martha is 20 a match cutter.
