Elizabeth Jane Taylor was born in 1855. She and
Thomas Lickorish were married on 11 November 1875 in Stockton Witness were William Taylor and Emily Adams. She died in 1940, at age ~85, in Southam, Warwick.
Elizabeth Jane Taylor was also known as Elizabeth Jane Lickorish. Funeral recorded in local paper:
"Stockton: The funeral of Mrs. Elizabeth LIckorish (better known in the village as "Granny Lickorish") - whose death was reported in our last issue - took place on Monday afternoon. The service was held in the Methodist church of which she had been a member since Methodism started in the village. In her young days, she and a few friends got together organized sewing parties and rummage sales etc. and started a fund so as to have their own place of worship. She was the last of the pioneers of Methodism in the village, and right up to the last was a keen working member of the church. Only three weeks ago she recited a long recitation at a Methodist Church social evening.
The service was conducted by the Rev. C. Borman of priors Marston, and two of her favourite hymns, “In loving kindness Jesus came" and "Forever with the Lord", were sung. Mrs. Burgiss was organist at the service, at which many church members were present. The coffin was borne by Messrs. H. Bodfish, H. Neal, T. Noon and W. J. Claridge.
The mourners were: - Mr. W. T. Lickorish, Mr. James Lickorish, Mr. J. H. Lickorish and Mr. R. C. Lickerish (sons) Mrs. H. Smith, Miss Ruth Lickorish and Mrs. Bromwich (daughters), Mrs. R. C. Lickorish (daughter-in-law), Mr. F. T. Lickorish (grandson) and Mrs. Lickorish, Mrs. H. Taylor (sister-in-law), Mrs. W. Morris, Mrs J. Noon, Mrs T. Noon jun. Mr. A. Turner and Mrs. E. Turner.
In addition to any floral tributes from the relatives and mourners were the following: - From neighbours in High Street, members of the Methodist church, Mr. & Mrs. G. Wilks; and Sheila, Hazel and Sydney. A memorial service is being held at the Methodist Church on Sunday night."

It seems he rented it from Warwickshire County Council some 20 acres, situated between his home village of Stockton and nearby Southam. 4 acres were arable, with the rest given over to cows, sheep, pigs and chickens - plus one horse. James even built his own farm buildings. Had 6 children 5 of which died in infancy Richard J W only survivor. James was a smallholder.2008 in contact with Richard J W Lickorish, the two missing children were still born and not registered.They were ref to as Ivy and Jacob. 1911 and 1920 respectfully. He had reference number Marr ? + 194. He and
Martha Louisa Hall witnessed the marriage of
Henry Smith and
Annie Lickorish on 23 May 1903 in Stockton.
1 James Lickorish appeared in the census in 1911 in Mount Pleasant, Stockton, Rugby. Shows James aged 33 a Quarry Man, Married for a year, no children living with his in laws. Wife Martha Louisa aged 31. They have four rooms.
